Oceanside’s scallops are dry, meaning they’re never stored in preservatives or other chemicals like you’ll find at other seafood companies. Each bag contains two pounds of American-caught Sea Scallops, with between ten to 15 scallops in each pound. The scallops are also free of added water that boosts the weight without adding product.
For best results, thaw your scallops slowly by placing them in the refrigerator overnight. To use immediately, run under cold water until thawed, and then pat dry.
- Serving size: Four ounces
- Bake or broil: Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Dip scallops in breadcrumbs or seasoned flour and place in a shallow pan with olive oil or something similar. Brush with melted butter and cook for approximately two to three minutes per side until medium brown.
- Sauté: Melt butter and garlic in a pan. Place scallops in the pan and cook for approximately two to three minutes on each side. Finish with lemon juice.
- Pan-fry: Dip the scallops in breadcrumbs, seasoned flour, or cornmeal and then place in a pan of hot oil or butter. Cook for approximately two to three minutes per side, turning once.
